Nomiki co-hosted The Hill’s Rising during the 2024 Presidential election and The Nomiki Show, a bi-weekly show highlighting global organizing, labor and marginalized communities’ movement work. Simultaneously, she
was a contributor to the Majority Report and a guest host for KCRW’s “Left, Right & Center.”. When Nomiki is not in media, she advises progressive and Democratic candidates and organizations on communications and political strategy with her company, Kefi Strategies.

 

A national surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020, she also served as a DNC Platform Committee Member and delegate. Sen.Sanders appointed her to the DNC Unity and Reform Commission, where she championed greater transparency and democratization within the party—reforms now advanced by DNC Chair Ken Martin, including an open budget process and a 50-state strategy.

 

As an advisor to Sen. Sanders’ Our Revolution, Nomiki helped lead the successful campaign to unseat NY’s Independent Democratic Conference (IDC)—a group of Democrats who allied with Republicans to block progressive legislation. She personally advised Cynthia Nixon’s gubernatorial challenge to Andrew Cuomo and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s historic campaign against Joe Crowley.

 

Nomiki serves as Director of Matriarch, an organization dedicated to training, recruiting and supporting working-class women at all levels of office. In light of the Proud Boys announcing political campaigns, Matriarch trained 500+ working-class women to run for office, from school board to Congress.

 

Nomiki was an investigative reporter for The Young Turks and host of The Filter on SiriusXM Progress, a three-hour daily political interview show, where she was praised for their on-the-ground reporting series on the 2016 Standing Rock conflict. She was a political analyst for CBSn and has appeared on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC representing the left for over a decade. On Fox News, she was a regular contributor to The O’Reilly Factor with a Wednesday night segment and a bi-weekly segment on The Kelly File.

 

Nomiki studied investigative reporting working under famed investigative reporter, Wayne Barrett, through
The Accountability Project, and its podcast, which focused on NY political corruption. Nomiki’s past
reporting covers local, international movements and injustices. She has also worked with campaigns,
candidates and movements all over the world - from Libya to Greece. She speaks on US and
international relations, politics and strategy.

 

Her production company, Kalianthe Pictures, focuses on highlighting stories of injustice and corruption through unscripted media. She’s currently in post production on Crypto Rico, a documentary on disaster capitalism and cryptocurrency in Puerto Rico. 

 

In 2019, Nomiki ran a spirited special-election campaign for NYC Public Advocate, highlighting corruption, the real estate industry’s financial powers, and political machines. The campaign mobilized thousands to unite against the special interests that created historic levels of income inequality in NYC.
